Just bought big agnes's insulated Q-Core SL pad. Unrolled it. Nothing. Left it out for several hours, came back, still not inflated (yes I did open the valve).

Hmmm, it appears that model of sleeping pad is not self-inflating. If you're concerned with having to use lung power to inflate your pad, you could go with an accessory like the Big Agnes Pumphouse Ultra. Otherwise, you can find our selection of self-inflating sleeping pads here. Although it can be nice to have a sleeping pad that inflates on it's own, one drawback is that self-inflating sleeping pads tend to be a bit bulkier, to account for the open-cell foam inside. The nice thing about sleeping pads like the one you have is that you get a lot of mattress without taking up as much room in your pack.
