I want to purchase a national park pass as a give for a friend. Is the pass assigned to me when I purchase it, or can I specify a different name/identity for the pass?
@hrohlwing According to this website https://www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/passes.htm#CP_JUMP_5088574 the pass is described as "non transferable" so there might be problems.

Great question @hrohlwing! Upon purchase, the pass must be punched for the month of purchase, allowing it to be used through the same month of the following year. However, the pass requires a signature on the back and an accompanying ID when it is checked. Therefore, as long as you don't sign it, you could gift it to your friend. @hikermor is correct in that once it is signed, the pass is non transferable. I hope your friend enjoys such a great gift!
Thanks!
