Shame on you REI for not establishing a military discount. With all the military presence in the Pacific Northwest, where you are headquartered, this should be a no brainer. I won't shop at a store that publicly acknowledges it does not give a military discount and seems I should join the club to get any kind of discount. Shame on you! If your an active duty, reserve or retiree, spread the word and boycott REI.

@Oldbiker one of the reasons we’re so excited about this new community is our ability to hear directly from our members with their feedback; thank you for providing this feedback about a military discount. As you may already know, REI is a member-owned co-op and our community is made-up of people from many different backgrounds, including those who have served in the military. As a co-op, we focus on providing the same benefits to all of our members. While we do not offer a military discount for individuals, we do give over 70 percent of our annual earnings back to outdoor communities that are helping establish trail systems and create better outdoor access for people. This includes studies, programs and places that help veterans enjoy the outdoors. You can read more about this work here.
At REI, we believe time outside is fundamental to a life well lived.
