How are your kayaks shipped? I'm too far away to pick up and would like it delivered to my vacation home. I need to know if I will need to be present when the kayak is delivered. Also, since our home is in a gated community and doesn't allow large tractor trailers down to my home, I need to know whether I will need to transport the kayak the final mile to our home. Thanks!

Non-inflatable kayaks that are shipped straight to customer’s addresses use either ArcBest or Estes Express freight companies. When the kayak arrives at the local freight terminal, you will be called to set up a delivery appointment. Someone does need to be present to accept the delivery.
Both companies have semi-trailers and smaller trucks in their vehicle lineup and we do not know beforehand which will be used for the final delivery. With your home not allowing semi-trailer access, you will want to ship to a different address that a larger truck could deliver to. Alternatively, you could also arrange to pick up the kayak from the local freight terminal when they call to schedule a delivery appointment.
As a reminder, oversized shipping charges may apply to a kayak that you are having shipped to your home. Let us know if you have any additional questions. Hopefully this helps!
