Instructions for and REI iron on patch.

I have an iron patch from REI, but I lost the instructions for the specifics on the best way to iron it on an item of clothing. Could you help with the printed instructions?

Hey @JAnderson - Thanks for bringing this question to us. We love the REI patches! Here are instructions for the iron on process:

  1. Make sure you are using fabric that can withstand the heat (no leather, nylon, etc)
  2. With a household iron set to high, quickly preheat the area where you want the patch
  3. Position the patch on the fabric
  4. To protect the patch and fabric, place a pressing cloth (can be a pillowcase or handkerchief) on top, between the patch and the iron
  5. Hold the iron on the patch for 30 to 45 seconds, applying some pressure but keeping the iron still.
  6. If possible, turn the clothing/item inside out and lay it flat on the ironing board, then place the pressing cloth and repeat step #5. Once cooled, you are finished.

Which patch do you have? If you want to upload one, we’d love to see a photo of it!

At REI, we believe time outside is fundamental to a life well lived.
