If employees are not handling cash, as noted in one of the reopening notes, how will in-store returns be handled if PayPal was used for payment?
@mlrp thanks for the question. For any returns that would normally be refunded with cash, we will be issuing merchandise return cards or mailing a refund check for deposit at your bank. With that said, we are working to establish safe processes for refunding with cash and hope to have that option in place soon.

We are happy to report that we are now using cash in stores. That being said, there are always circumstances that can impact that at the local level. You will want to confirm with your local REI store that they are taking cash and then you should be good to go with your return. Additionally, we are able to return purchases made with PayPal to the PayPal account that was used.
