Re: Getting mildew out of a tent...

Hello REI,

We are wondering if you guys have any suggestions about the best way to get mildew smell out of an old tent of nylon fabric?
I have seen some discussion of washing it in a solution of 1/2 cup Lysol to a gallon of hot water and/or rinsing in a solution of 1 cup lemon juice and 1 c. salt to a gallon of hot water and drying in the sun.

Would you agree with that, or have other suggestions?

Thanks.

Re: Getting mildew out of a tent...

@markie Thanks for reaching out!

We have a couple of products designed for this very scenario that should have your tent back in service soon. We recommend Gear Aid ReviveX Odor Eliminator or Rockin' Green Platinum Series Active Wear Detergent.  With both products you'll want to follow the directions to create a solution in which to soak the tent.

Additionally, we have had a couple of different conversations about this topic with a few other users, feel free to check out those threads here and here

Hope this helps!
