My Thermarest sleeping pad has a slow leak. I plan to put it in the bathtub to find where the leak is, as I can't hear any air escaping. I've seen a lot of repair kits and opinions about ways to fix leaks- does anyone have a tried and true method?

Any of the sleeping pad repair kits carried by REI should work well for repairing small holes or tears. In terms of ensuring your repair lasts for a long time, following the instructions carefully is really critical, particularly around the time to allow the glue to cure. You'll find some great info in the Expert Advice article about How to Repair a Sleeping pad.
Hope this helps!
