Earning dividends while using dividends

Hello! I have about $15 in dividends left to use right now and I want to buy a bike and a bike rack. If I put the $15 dividends towards that purchase, does that affect whether/how much of a dividend I will earn on the purchase? Would I be better off saving that $15 for another time?

Thanks for reaching out!

If you make a purchase using a dividend as part, or all, of the payment, you will still earn dividend on the eligible items in that purchase. Your member dividend is based on eligible net purchases, which exclude REI Outlet items, sale and clearance items, discounted items, gift cards, REI adventures travel, REI classes or day trips, service fees (e.g., rentals, labor), membership fee, postage, event tickets, passes or registrations, government agencies and sales tax.

Hopefully this helps, thanks!
