Why does it take so long for you to calculate annual dividends?

When 1/1/2020 hit, your systems should be able to run a batch process and calculate this in less than a day, I will add in some time for returns and adjustments, that should not being me until March for dividends?

Can you explain?

@2000199355323 Chris, thanks for the question about our process for issuing dividends. As a member-owned co-op, we do work a little differently than a lot of companies. Our timing around dividend distribution is always in March, once we've closed our books, met with our Board for final approval, and prepared dividend packets. As you likely already know, member dividends are one of the unique benefits of co-op membership and we appreciate your patience while they're being prepared. Thanks for being a co-op member!

At REI, we believe time outside is fundamental to a life well lived.
