Camping Tent for 2, Various Weather Conditions

I'm looking for recommendations for a 2 person tent that won't break the bank, but would be large enough for 2 people and potentially a dog.

We live in Florida, so we need a tent that can handle Florida rain, but we also want something that we can take out of state, and will hold up in cooler climates as well.

Weight is not a huge concern, as we are not planning to take this on any backpacking or hiking intense camping trips, but easy setup would be a big plus.

Thanks in advance!

@Dillicious Thanks for reaching out!

We've got a couple of great options for tents that meet your criteria! In terms of handling rain, the best bet for a tent is one with a full-coverage rain fly and vestibule. Additionally, when camping with two people (and potentially a four-legged friend) it really does benefit to go up to a three person tent. That way you have room to move around a bit and have some extra space for gear. Three great options are the REI Co-op Half Dome 3 Plus tent, the Marmot Limelight 3P tent, and the REI Co-op Passage 3 tent. All of them have the room you need, each has a full coverage rain fly with vestibules, and they are all pretty easy to set up! If you do not feel like you need the space a three person tent provides, each also comes in a two person version as well.

We always recommend purchasing a footprint for your tent. It helps protect the tent floor from damage and moisture. The Marmot Limelight tent actually has the footprint included in the package. You can find the footprint for the REI Co-op Half dome 3 and REI Co-op Passage 3 tents here and here.

Lastly, if you're interested in a slightly bigger tent for car camping that would allow you the room to stand up inside your tent, you can check out the North Face Wawona 4 tent and the REI Co-op Grand Hut 4 tent. Both of those tents have the full coverage rain fly you will want to handle the Florida rain!

I hope this helps, thank you!

Thanks John! These all look great.
