Just curious what folks have on their hiking/biking bucket list..
#1/#2 GDMBR/CDT (ride it not race it:)) and Trans-America bike ride Virginia to Oregon
What a great trip!
Plus, you would have to get an appropriate backpack...
Just place in a creek for 30 minutes and its a GO!
I adventure raced the Pittsburgh Tri (mostly because I didn’t want to swim that River. Ha!). It wasn’t bad at all. Kinda cool if you live there because you actually biked the BIG road (closed to traffic at the time).
Years ago, but I assume that they still do it....well, maybe not 2020/2021 but in general.
Was fun but was also a sprint (short race).
I'll be almost 63 when I start my hike from the eastern term of the PNT next June, taking a left at the PCT, then rethinking things when I get to the Bridge of the Gods... Been prep-n. Cant wait
I just completed a weekender in the Garden of the Gods Wilderness Area in Southern Illinois. MY buddies and I strung together multiple hikes resulting in a 3 night/4 day trek. If you are located in the midwest, specifically in a 6-8 hour radius of Garden of the Gods, this is DEFINTELY worth the drive!
No, you don't get the National Geographic scenery of the ACTUAL Garden of the GOds in Colorado, but this is definitely a gem for the Midwest! Highly recommend.
My Outdoor Bucket List -
Thru-Hike the AT, PCT, CDT
Kayak the Mississippi River from Lake Itasca State Park in MN to the Gulf of Mexico (to be completed in 2026)
Finish the remaining trails in the Superior Hiking Trails
Take my family to the BWCA
Solo trip to Quetico
