Hands-On Bike Maintenance: Wheel Truing

Cycling

Description: The wheel is a crucial part of the bike and failure can be catastrophic. Over time, the rim, spokes, and nipples can become worn and/or damaged and the wheel can become fatigued; requiring repair or replacement to return it to optimal performance. Join our certified bike technicians to learn proper maintenance and adjustment you can make to keep your wheels and the component parts in good condition. Bikes must be clean and in good working order to be used during the class. If your bike does not meet standards you may still attend the clinic. However, you may be asked not to work on your bike. Register early, class size is limited.

Skills you'll learn:

  • Identify when a bicycle wheel is out of "true"
  • Learn adjustments that can be made for wheels that are not laterally true
  • Learn adjustments that can be made for wheels that are not radially true

Check out the gear list.
