Despite an incredible lineup of artists and activities, ticket sales did not meet our expectations.\u00a0All previously purchased tickets will be fully refunded to the card you used for purchase (including all fees). These\u00a0one-day festivals will feature\u00a0experiences that celebrate an outdoor lifestyle\u00a0during the day and a dynamic line up of female-led music performances in the evening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe&#8217;ve looked at being part of music festivals over the years in lots of different ways.\u00a0Outessafest\u00a0was created\u00a0for the urban female who is interested in the\u00a0outdoors,\u00a0music\u00a0and art\u00a0and wants to have fun experiences on the weekends with her friends and family,\u201d says\u00a0Sally Johnson, senior manager, events marketing. \u201cThese festivals are made by\u00a0women for women. There\u2019s\u00a0something really inspiring\u00a0and\u00a0energizing\u00a0in\u00a0this work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The first\u00a0Outessafest\u00a0will happen at Patuxent River Park in the Washington D.C. area on Sept. 29 with the second hosted at\u00a0Shakori\u00a0Hills in North Carolina on Oct. 20. Overnight camping will be available in North Carolina for those who want to spend a little more time\u00a0outdoors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the festivals we&#8217;ll have things like a climbing wall or trail running to help people have an outdoor experience that lights that spark,\u201d says\u00a0Ladan\u00a0Yalzadeh,\u00a0events\u00a0manager. \u201cThat spark is the\u00a0thing that goes off inside you.\u00a0It\u00a0shows\u00a0you that you can have an outdoor life,\u00a0even while\u00a0living in a city,\u00a0just by going to a nearby park and experiencing\u00a0how much better life can be in the outdoors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other activities include\u00a0yoga, trail running and paddling.\u00a0Outessafest\u00a0partners like\u00a0Black Diamond, Garmin, Hydro Flask, Leatherman,\u00a0Lorissa\u2019s\u00a0Kitchen, Maui Jim, Merrell,\u00a0OluKai, Osprey, RXBAR, Salomon, Sea to Summit,\u00a0Smartwool\u00a0and Subaru of America\u00a0will be on site to inspire women to have an active outdoor life. Attendees will have the chance to learn about wellness in the outdoors from guest speakers and even make their own gift to take home\u00a0to\u00a0remember their experience.<\/p>\n<p>Under the\u00a0Outessa\u00a0framework, these festivals are centered around female musicians and artists. The festivals are inclusive to women, their families, friends and anyone\u00a0who\u00a0has an interest in women-led\u00a0culture. Classes and activities are open to all skill levels and kids under 12 get in\u00a0free.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHopefully\u00a0these\u00a0festivals\u00a0help awaken\u00a0a love of the outdoors\u00a0for people\u00a0new to spending time outside,\u201d says\u00a0Sally. \u201cWe\u00a0want to\u00a0show people how many\u00a0different\u00a0ways there are to get outside and\u00a0how enriching\u00a0it can be.\u00a0There are so many intersections\u00a0between what people care\u00a0about and the outdoors,\u00a0like adventure,\u00a0music,\u00a0beauty and creativity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are on sale now, June 19, on\u00a0www.outessa.com for $100 per festival.
