In the spring of 2014, the High Fives Foundation<\/a>\u00a0— dedicated to raising money and awareness for athletes that have suffered a life-altering injury while pursuing their dream in the winter action sports community — gave a “Winter Empowerment” grant to Tony Schmiesing.<\/p>\n

Tony would be the first known quadriplegic to heli-ski the\u00a0Chugach Mountain Range\u00a0with\u00a0Points North Heli-Adventures.<\/p>\n

“To date, we have helped 65 athletes through the recovery process and this story of Tony Schmiesing was really powerful,” says High Fives Foundation Executive Director and Co-Founder Roy Tuscany. “We still cannot believe that he completed his ultimate mission.”<\/p>\n
