Comments about LOKSAK Aloksak Multi 4-Pack:
I've used these for years to keep food dry inside the ice chest (what in the world does everyone else do?). IF you are careful with them, they rock! If you treat them like ziplocs, you will be disappointed. Don't overfill (this gave one of mine a pinhole leak), take your time with closing (really make a job of it), open gingerly, and they will work. I've used my set for three years and am just now having to replace a couple. I don't think that's a bad life-span for a product like this at all.

Amazing product. For less than $10 I can protect my iPad or iPhone.
I always double check seal is working prior to using.

Comments about LOKSAK Aloksak Multi 4-Pack:
I've used these bags to seal items in my first aid kit. The bags do seal. However, in time - even without opening and resealing - the seal attaching the bag to the ziplock will fail. I've gone so far as to store these bags in ziplock bags, only to later find these bags have delaminated at the seal.
Other than using these bags brand new, and for sort periods of time, and later discarding, I find no advantage of these bags over ziplock.

Comments about LOKSAK Aloksak Multi 4-Pack:
I have found LokSak products to be extremely poorly made and unreliable. The seams at the top tore apart just by trying to open the bag the first time. The top seams are only crazy glued or taped on. Really poor product, I wouldn't recommend to anyone who needs to keep their items dry. You'd be better off with a regular zip lock bag from your local grocery store.

Comments about LOKSAK Aloksak Multi 4-Pack:
I like this set because it contains 4 waterproof airtight bags of various sizes. I used the smallest size for my passport (2 months of living in a moist tropical forest had gotten my passport moldy). The other sizes I've used to protect things away from bugs, torrential rain, and general moisture. They have worked great so far.
I've opened and closed the passport-size bag A LOT the past 4 months and it's done a great job, until the black edge to frayed to the point that I couldn't get a good grip to open it. I kept pulling at it, but it wouldn't open. I stuck my fingernail into the seam, but it wouldn't open. I then pulled at the sides of the bag harder and actually ripped the bag. The closure never opened!
So I still think it's a great bag. The other bags continue to do a great job. It's just that you should be careful to not let the black seams fray. Mine got frayed because it was often stored in a zippered pocket that barely fit it.
I've tested these bags under water and the contents remain dry. Aloksak is thicker and way more durable than a measly ziplock bag. I'm about to go snorkeling and of the bags on the market, given their price and quality, I'd entrust my passport, cellphone, and money in Aloksak.

Comments about LOKSAK Aloksak Multi 4-Pack:
I've tried really hard to like these bags; bought two sets of them, because the first set failed. Luckily nothing disastrous. I use them to keep my camera components protected while traveling and in storage.
So, far they all exhibit the same type of failure. The seams at the seal line would come undone and separate, rendering the bag as only an open bag. This would happen over a bit of time .. few months.
This can be a good bag if you're going to store something away in a secure and temperature controlled environment. Some place where it would not be disturbed.

Comments about LOKSAK Aloksak Multi 4-Pack:
I used these bags several times while i was scuba diving up to 130 ft. 1. even when properly zipped and double bagged, sometimes there was water in the inside bag. at other times, however, only one bag would work ok. because of this unpredictability i won't use them for diving anymore. 2. the zip seal is difficult to close properly and requires some time and close attention. 3. with repeated use, the seam between the zip seal section and the rest of the bag might separate and the bag becomes unsealable. it is uncertain after how many uses separation will happen. not knowing that, a new bag could conceivably be used every time[...]

Comments about LOKSAK Aloksak Multi 4-Pack:
I stored these bags in my kayak bag over the winter (unused) and when I went to use them this summer for kayaking, they were stuck together on the inside. When I emailed the company about the problem, I received this answer: "The only time the aLOKSAK will adhere to itself is if you left them in very high temperatures for long periods of time. The disclaimer that came with your products has a warning, DO NOT EXPOSE TO EXTREME HEAT."
I did not leave them in extreme heat and I do not remember any warning on the package; but of course I do not still have the packaging to see if there is anything there. I probably won't purchase these again, since they were pretty expensive and now they are not really usable because of the inside sticking to itself.
The idea is great, but it needs some refinement and the company could be more helpful.
Service and delivery comments:
Customer service was prompt, but not at all helpful.

Comments about LOKSAK Aloksak Multi 4-Pack:
I've used this product for several years. To protect electronics (cell, P&S digital camera, etc), for a self made personal first aid kit. The bags are strong and I've yet to have one fail. I use them in my day bag for my emergency kit supplies and while in another bag .. they get mashed and banged around ... always airtight and well sealed. Like any ziplock the seal has to be done right but not that complicated. Squeeze out the air first of course. I question the one star review on this item. They are definitely not a glorified ziplock bag and I've yet to have one fail. You might be able to rip it's seams if you try to rip it open and stress the seams when open ... after all it's a plastic bag. But I've found them excellent. They also have other products you might want to check out on their web page.

Comments about LOKSAK Aloksak Multi 4-Pack:
For the past three years I have used the same small bag to keep my electronics dry during many activities in which I am completely submerged. Sometimes the bag is submerged for great lengths of time. For the past two months I have used it exclusively to keep my mobile and my iPod dry while completing 2+ km open water swims, four to five times each week. The bag is made of a very durable, stretchy, rubberized material that resists wear at places that are repeatedly folded or poked. The seal is a very fine double seal and it is a bit finicky. If you do not overload the bag and take care while both closing and opening the seal, then the bag should last for many years. Be sure to expel as much air as possible prior to sealing the bag. I find the bags a bit short for their width and I would like to see them a bit taller.
