Available year-round REI Boca Park's Community Room is Available Free

REI Boca Park's community room is dedicated full time to free REI clinics and presentations, local non-profits and outdoor clubs. Non-profit groups and anyone gathering socially to inspire outdoor adventure and stewardship may use this room that seats 45 people for free! REI Boca Park's community room has a digital projector and screen as well as a PA system available for use.

Join Dr. Ray Saumure, Wildlife Biologist for the Las Vegas Springs Preserve, for a virtual tour of the 250 species living on the grounds of the Preserve as well as those living in the greater area of Southern Nevada. Desert wildlife is unlike any other in the US and is always fascinating. This is a great presentation for the entire family!

The Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club holds their monthly meeting at REI. The Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club was founded in 1989 by a handful of cyclists who simply enjoyed riding together. Our goals include hosting and leading recreational rides and events for riders of all ages and abilities, along with educating LVVBC members and the general public about safe bicycling. We promote interest in bicycling for recreation, transportation and fitness by maintaining relationships with bicycle dealers and other organization that promote bicycling.

12/12/2009 9:00 AM Wilderness First Aid with American Red Cross $

This course is intended to serve as an educational resource for those involved in activities that take them beyond the scope of traditional urban emergency medical services. In these cases, emergency care is delayed until help can be notified and rescuers can reach the intended patient or the patient is evacuated to safety. This course helps provide the knowledge and skills necessary to deal with these emergencies until more advanced care can be provided. A minimum age of 15 is recommended due to the serious nature of the content.

This course covers two days beginning at 9am and concluding at 6pm. Class size is limited so register early!

The Around the Bend Friends Club is for 'young at heart' active adults age 50 and over. Our Saturday hikes are intended for the general membership (go at your own pace and go as far as you want); Our Tuesday hikes, if scheduled, are slower paced. Thursday club hikes are more challenging and are intended for more advanced hikers. Stop in for our monthly meeting and join us for our next outing!
