Donations and Sponsorship Requests

REI directly promotes environmental stewardship in a number of ways including community grants, service projects, youth programs, and through the knowledge and enthusiasm of our staff. We invite and encourage partnerships in responsible outdoor recreation and conservation projects.

Due to the high volume of requests we get each year for sponsorships and donations, we have developed a set of guidelines to focus our efforts. Please note that should your organization/event meet these guidelines, this does not guarantee participation. Our giving program is highly competitive and we regret that we cannot support every one of these requests.

In order to be considered, your organization or event must meet any or all of the following:

- Support conservation and environmental education initiatives.

- Introduce youth to stewardship and outdoor recreation.

- Support responsible outdoor recreation: cycling, hiking, paddling, climbing, camping, snow sports, or adventure travel.

-Please note that REI confines its giving domestically in order to directly assist the areas in which we live and work.

At REI, we cannot endorse or fund any religious or political activities, public or private schools, individual or team endeavors.

If you feel your organization or event meets our guidelines, please submit the following information in writing or via e-mail:

- Name and address of Organization along with 501c3 Tax ID (if applicable)
- Contact Person including phone and e-mail
- Your Request (a very brief but specific who, what, when, where and how)
- Why REI would be a good partner for you (short paragraph)
- Goals of program, event, or organization

Requests must be received a minimum of 30 days prior to an event.
