Kid's PEAK Program

Year Round

REI and the Leave No Trace organization have joined together to develop our PEAK (Promoting Environmental Awareness in Kids) program. Using a variety of games and activities, these free programs are designed to teach participants the Seven Principles established by Leave No Trace.

These are:

1. Plan and Prepare
2. Travel & Camp on Durable Surfaces
3. Dispose of Waste Properly
4. Leave What You Find
5. Minimize Campfire Impacts
6. Respect Wildlife
7. Be Considerate of Other Visitors

The goal of these principles is to encourage minimal impact on the public lands and natural areas we all share, while promoting awareness, safety and FUN!

PEAK classes are designed to be adapted for specific ages and groups. They usually take 45 minutes to an hour.
