REI Kennewick announces the 2009 Grant Recipients!

Grant recipients 2009!

Congratulations to:

The Tapteal Greenway Association for their project "Chamna Natural Preserve Gateway Upgrade". They have recieved over $5700.00 in grant money.

The Chamna Natural Preserve is rated as one of the BEST Desert
Hikes in Washington and is the most popular multi-use trail system
in the region. The Tapteal Greenway will use REI's grant to enhance
the recreational experience for all users by establishing a formal
trailhead meeting area that will educate and direct activities in the
Preserve. Tapteal will also continue to support the new trailhead
with volunteer restoration projects focused on the surrounding area.
REI's grant will provide materials for trailhead construction and
plants for native restoration of the surrounding area.
