GPS 101 (Part I: Theory) - REI Austin Downtown

This two part class course covers material that will benefit users without any GPS experience to those with a good working knowledge of GPS functions. The course is broken down into two sessions, including a classroom-based theory class (Part I) and a hands-on field exercise (Part II). The topics covered will include:

Essential Functions
Satellite System and Accuracy
Physical Characteristics of GPS Units
Pages or Screens of a GPS Unit
GPS Models and Features
Field Exercise
Mapping and Coordinate Systems

This class is limited to 25 people, so early registration is advised. Register by contacting REI Downtown customer service at (512) 482-3357.
If you own a GPS, bring it to Part II. If you don?t own a GPS unit, then REI Downtown has a limited number of loaner units.
