REI's partnership with VolunteerMatch is just one way REI harnesses the power of volunteers to give back to local communities. Through our giving programs REI partners with over 400 nonprofit groups and clubs that focus on conservation and access to outdoor recreation. Each year we mobilize thousands of volunteers to join REI service projects on trails, parks and waterways around the country.

In 2008, REI Portland partnered with non-profit organizations like Community Cycling Center, Forest Park Conservancy, Oregon Nordic Club and Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge and recruited 450 volunteers who donated over 1500 hours of service.
