Outdoor Recreation Information Center
The Outdoor Recreation Information Center (ORIC) is a unique visitor center being operated jointly by the National Park Service (NPS), U.S. Forest Service (USFS), and the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission (WSPRC) at the Seattle REI Flagship store. Visit the ORIC for up-to-date information on recreational opportunities found throughout Washington State.
Operating Hours: 10am - 6pm, Monday - Sunday
At the Outdoor Recreation Information Center, you can get:
- Current trail, road, and campground reports
- Current weather and avalanche conditions/ forecasts
- Many free handouts on area trails including directions, descriptions, national park brochures, winter activities, climbing, bicycling, day hiking, and maps of some local trails
- Ranger advice on planning your trip, whether it is a casual day hike or multi-day backpacking trip. We also help plan bicycle touring routes, fishing areas, kayaking trips, where to go skiing or snowshoeing... Just about any outdoor recreational pursuit in Washington!
- Many of the area recreational use passes including the Northwest Forest Pass, National Parks and Federal Lands Pass, Senior Pass, and Access Pass.
- Contact information for many of the area National Park, National Forest, Washington State Park, and Washington Department of Natural Resources offices.
- Information on outdoor clubs, outdoor safety, campground reservations, and volunteer opportunities.
- Books and other educational items of "Discover your Northwest" - a nonprofit interpretive association.
