Holiday Gift Wrapping at REI

Thanksgiving through Christmas, 2009

POST is a student-led outdoor education program based out of Garfield High School. We are a non-profit organization, and are the largest student run organization in Washington, with over 350 members. We run a variety of trips that are open to all Seattle-area students. Our mission is to encourage environmental awareness, leadership, diversity, self-confidence, and knowledge of the outdoors. We help to build a sense of community, which may not otherwise be found in a high school environment.Our trips range in activity from rock climbing to snow camping, basic survival skills to kayaking and scuba diving. We run several trips around Washington as well as to Thailand and Utah. All trips are entirely planned and run by student staff, with a number of adult chaperones who supervise the activities. POST has also won special awards recognizing the club's environmental stewardship and contributions to the community, and we strive to meet the needs of all students.

Every holiday season, POST fundraises with the help of REI. POST will have a gift wrap station located near the store's front entrance on

There will be a table in which customers can have their gifts wrapped and put into REI boxes by member of POST staff and other Garfield students, and through this event POST can help pay for student scholarships and gear. Donations will also be accepted, and every person who donates $20 or more will receive a book about outdoor life.
