Healing Waters:
Since 1996, the San Francisco-based nonprofit organization Healing Waters has provided high quality wilderness adventures for people with HIV/AIDS, with the aim of empowering, inspiring and enriching their lives. Its primary focus is organizing rafting trips, sea kayaking expeditions and camping trips for youth. All trips are led by trained volunteers, and are typically offered every other weekend, May through October.

Exploring the Sierra: Perspectives of a Naturalist and Artist:

Naturalist, environmental educator and artist John (Jack) Muir Laws spent six summers backpacking the Sierra-researching and illustrating The Laws Field Guide to the Sierra Nevada. Produced in collaboration with the California Academy of Sciences, this pocket-sized field guide contains 2,710 original watercolor paintings of more than 1,700 species in the Sierra. Join Jack for a slide lecture on his adventures making this comprehensive work.

First Ever Yo-yo Hike of the Continental Divide Trail: Mexico to Canada and Back:

After hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2001 and the Pacific Crest Trail in 2006, Francis Tapon set out in April 2007 on his most ambitious adventure yet-to become the first person to complete a roundtrip (yo-yo) hike of the Continental Divide Trail.
