Innovative Gear: Editors' Choice Award Winners for 2011

Backpacker magazine recently unveiled its 2011 Editors’ Choice award winners. The following tents and bags, which the editors said "earned our torture-tested seal of approval," are available at REI.com. Kelty Salida 2 Tent Says Backpacker: “Tents tend to seesaw between weight and price. As one goes up, the other goes down. REI in the News: Honors for REI's Half Dome Tent Series

Two REI tents have been recognized by a couple of the top magazines in the business. In April, the REI Half Dome 2 Tent was honored by Backpacker magazine as a 2010 Editors’ Choice Gold Award recipient. Look for their description and a video of the tent online. In Outside Buyer’s Guide (Summer 2010), the magazine features the REI Half Dome 2 Plus Tent as a 2010 Gear of the Year award recipient. The tent receives a 4.4 out of 5 in the livability category, and 4.5 out of 5 for its sturdiness. ...
