I really put these new shoes to the test in Colorado. I was skate skiing at Ghost Mt. Ranch near Granby CO and the boots, while not skate specific, had the side support needed and did OK. I am sure they would be ideal for classic. The test was when I was dumb enough to follow my brother-in-law who had classic skis out on a frozen lake. He stayed on top with his wide skis and I sunk to the waist. My ski was turned backwards and came off as I pulled my foot out. I was so afraid that I broke the binding on the ski or ripped the binding on the boot but neither occurred! You never go wrong buying good equipment.
