by HikerJDfromWell made shirt gets quite damp with pack onThe shirt is comfortable, well made and the venting mesh is really nice for hot days. However, the middle of the back is made with the thicker, non-mesh fabric, and it collects a surprising amount of sweat. All shirts do this if you're hiking with a pack on, but I've found the North Face shirts seem to hold sweaty moisture in a heavy, more damp way, than other shirts.
Note on color: I got the Fiery Red and it looks like a very nice, true red in person. The photo on REI's website comes across a bit brighter and more pink than it really is. Great color, go for it.
I got this during one of REI's super sales, so the complaint department is more or less closed on this one. I'd recommend it to a friend for less than full price.

by Mark M.fromGreat shirt for indoor and outdoor workoutsI have two of these and love using them for indoor workouts and outdoor running and hiking. I sweat a lot, way too much, and these stay drier than any other active shirt I have owned. Back and pit vents are key.

by Dave Z bikerfromGreat shirt for bike riding. This shirt has been great for daily bike riding. The fit was perfect and doesn't flap in the wind when bike riding. A few washings hasn't had any effect on fit or color. As with all dry fit type fabric turn inside out before throwing in washer. Good deal.
