Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Rechargeable Pump Air Bed - Queen - Overstock:
I did a ton or research before committing to purchase this bed. I am no camping expert or guru, but the rechargeable pump, the bed's durability in harsh conditions, easy to inflate / deflate, and overall comfort for the Mrs. and me were major factors in my decision. I received this bed in about a week in the Middle East after ordering through REI.com. I inflated the bed straight out of the box without having to charge the pump, and the bed inflated in about two minutes. To test the bed for any issues prior to taking it camping, I slept in it with one my 30lb. dog the first night. The bed was still fully inflated in the morning, and I deflated the bed in the morning - still without having to recharge the pump. My wife and I slept on the bed over a weekend, and I could not find any issues or loss of air. The top fabric also doesn't make any noise when moving around.
We took the bed on a 2-day camping trip in the mountains outside of Dubai. About 1000 meters, no grass, some sand, and mostly rocks. My wife, two 30+ lbs. dogs, and I slept comfortably. We didn't have to inflate the bed during the entire weekend. Set up was a breeze - just attach the charger and turn it on. The same when breaking down the bed.
My only gripe is the stuff sack that came with the bed. Space and weight are premiums for me, even during car camping, and the stuff sack design could have been given more thought. I ended up designing my own sack - but that's just me. The bed came with your standard AC charger and car adapter. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this bed.
