    • Functioning like down feathers, the tiny round clusters of ThermoBall spun polyester trap warm air, while softly conforming to your body's shape
    • ThermoBall retains 80% of its insulating power even when dampened by rain, humidity or sweat, so you'll continue to stay warm
    • Small baffles in shell fabric allow insulation to fully expand to retain body heat; highly compressible ThermoBall insulation offers warmth equal to 600-fill-power goose down
    • Tightly-woven nylon shell features square stitching that helps hold insulation in place to keep it evenly distributed; Durable Water Repellent finish repels light moisture
    • Nylon lining wicks sweat off the skin for quick evaporation, helping you stay dry and comfortable
    • Quickly stuff the jacket into its own space-saving, left-hand stow pocket for compact storage
    • Attached hood; zippered hand pockets; full-length front zipper with internal windflap; stretch-bound cuffs, low-profile drawcord hem
    • The North Face ThermoBall hoodie jacket has a standard fit and is machine washable
    • ThermoBall technology has been thoroughly tested by The North Face athletes, including Conrad Anker and Jimmy Chin, during summit trips on Denali and Mount Meru

by fromNo hood adjustments, seriously? Nice coat and almost warm. No hood adjustments, seriously? With all these impressive features, how can they leave this out? How can North Face put a coat on the market with this poor design? It's 17 degrees now in the Adirondack Mountains, and this coat's hood does not work.

by fromHood bad move Have to agree with previous reviewer. In the recent arctic vortex, where we had temperatures down to 7F and windchills bringing it lower, I changed my standard thermoball for the one with the hood, a necessary move given the temperatures. However, while the jacket maintaned its previous impressive levels of warmth, the hood was not adjustable, and kept flopping and whipping all over the place with the wind. This is astonishing since the North Face Tri-Climate jacket I own has a SUPERB hood that is fully adjustable, I expected better from them. Honestly, I'm not sure what type of person this hood is intended for, as its only water resistant, and a more active person would need something that secures better.

by fromVersatile 3 season jacket I bought the red power ball hooded jacket for my husband last fall. Many times in the winter he thanked me for it. The color is cheerful in a drab landscape. The warmth is fine down to Zero degrees here in ND. Below 0, it served as a fine liner in a parka. This spring it helps as a liner in his raincoat. The jacket is really lighweight. The fit is not too big or small for the XL. I like being able to machine wash and hang to dry.
