Comments about Stansport Propane Lantern with Amber Glass - 2011 Closeout:
Bought this earlier in the summer on sale and I'm glad I did. Generally I dislike lanterns because they're way too bright and glaring. The amber glass on this makes for a more pleasant atmosphere, and you can turn it down really low too. We never did get the handle attached, but since we didn't intend to hang it, that was okay. If the whole mantle thing is too complicated for you, you won't like this, though it's not difficult. Just bring extras in case. Nice stable base with the extra feet that swing out. Like all lanterns that burn fuel (as opposed to batteries), this one gets hot, so I'd keep young kids away from it. We brought it in the tent one cold wet night, but we were really careful and opened a vent. Happy trails!
