Comments about Patagonia Activist Shoes - Men's:
Other than slip on/off shoes, these are very comfortable travel shoes and good for general getting about town, casual wear, and light outdoor use. They make nice "camp shoes" to wear after a day on the trail or paddling. They take up very little space and are light weight. They work well for light trail and scrambling, but not made for hiking with any weight on your back or for rough terrain. Support is OK for wearing all day, but not for tougher hiking.
I don't think their tread will hold up as long as I might like, but the trade off is their build is more eco-friendly, pack light and small. I travel with a one-bag holds all approach, so these work nice as a second pair of shoes along with footwear more appropriate to the sort of heavier duty use my trip might have planned.
Comfy...but my experience was that they were a half-size too small. Your mileage may vary, but I had to send back and go up a half-size. These are slightly too big, but the foot bed, heel, ball, and arch all hit on the mark. I tend to wear socks as a matter of comfort...sockless works fine with these and might allow some of you to fit into your regular size.
