Comments about Arc'teryx Spear 20 Pack - 2012 Closeout:

I've been using this on my daily commute and have carried a 13" laptop, an iPad, and many other incidentals without any problems. It's certainly a well made bag with a unique top closure which I like. If you need lots of pockets and places to stash things, this bag has only 3 pockets so beware. The sternum strap is important to me and seems like it could be more beefy. Hopefully it lasts. Made with tough materials and excellent fit and finish.

    Comments about Arc'teryx Spear 20 Pack - 2012 Closeout:

I've gotten a chance to use this pack on a couple of day hikes and skiing at a local resort and have really enjoyed it. The roll-top closure is one less thing to break and easily entered with gloved hands.I also think the roll-top will be a quiet option for hunting this fall. The outer, zippered pocket is great for quick items like a map, hat, or snack and you can get to it while the pack's still slung over a shoulder. There's a sleeve and hanger in the main compartment for a water bladder, too. On the ski hill, I was able to keep the pack on, while riding the chair, without any problems. So far, the pack is great for carrying the basics and the suspension system is fairly comfrtable for light loads (20-25lbs max).
