Comments about UCO Clarus LED Lantern:
when iinitially got this produt, i was excited to try it. Having just come back from my first excursion with it, i found it lacking. unfortunately, before my first outing, it was dropped from about 3 feet onto concrete, breaking the lense from the rest of the body. when i tried to secure it again, i found that the screws holding it in place were only about 1/16" into the plastic of the body, and theplastic was stripped. after siliconing it back, i found that the flashlight lacked, as well as the lantern. my headlamp will always be first in my pack. next to that, a black diamond orbit. this product is completely lacking, and i see no reason to carry it alongside my headlamp.
Comments about UCO Clarus LED Lantern:
This lantern converts into a nice flashlight....so you can use it as either.....Nice product for little $!

Comments about UCO Clarus LED Lantern:
I am going to compare this light to Black Diamond Orbit, which I have used for two years. In short, Clarus is a cheaper made Orbit, which can be used as a flash light. It claims to be 150 lumens but in reality it is just a bit brighter than Orbit. Between structure of the reflectors and somewhat lacking "frosting" on the diffuser, it can tricky to find a position where you can get most out of this light.
I was actually really exited to try it, since i hoped it would be improvement over Orbit. It isn't, unless you have use for flashlight mode. The built quality is also step down from BD but Clarus also costs less. I think UCO got the right idea, they just need to refine it a little bit.
