The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Katadyn Combi Microfilter:
I got this as a gift and at first I was unsure whether or not it was going to be too heavy when compared with the lighter plastic model from katadyn. Luckily, the advantages of this model far outweigh the weight differential. I've taken it out only a few times but so far it's oodles better than other models I've used.
It is easy to pump! The pump handle fits in your hand better than the awkward plastic lever the other model has. Also, the outlet has a nalgene adapter and it was very easy to pump when you have a nalgene screwed on to it. With the nalgene rested on the ground or between your legs you can even pump one handed.
It is durable. The pump handle is sturdy plastic and the metal plunger seems way more durable than the other model. Also, you can clean the ceramic filter which (hopefully) will extend the life and prevent it from failing in the field from clogging.
You can add carbon to the thing, but you don't have to. I have opted to use it without for now since all the water I've filtered tastes just fine.
I also like the sleek cylindrical shape which makes for easy fitting into my pack.
Cons: It doesn't come with an outlet hose and the screw adapter only works for wide mouthed and small mouthed nalgene style bottles. A few of my other bottles didn't fit. There is a place to attach a hose though and so I may buy one. Also, the kit doesn't come with a plastic pouch for the contaminated inlet hose to keep it separate from the rest. Zip lock bag will work fine though.
It is pricier and heavier than the hiker model. I was glad it was a gift! On that note: my dad owns the katadyn pocket that is a whole 100$ more and it is essentially the same in weight/performance/size so I would save my money and get this one instead. I like this pump handle better, actually.
The ceramic filter could possibly break if you dropped it? I haven't seen anything in the reviews about that happening. I guess in a pinch the carbon cartridge would work as a backup though. Who knows.
Overall I love it and look forward to having it for the long haul. If you have the extra cash, I would shell out for the combi I've had too many problems with the hiker model breaking/clogging to go back.
