Comments about Fenix LD41 Flashlight:
Excellent light output and my favorite feature is the separate buttons for selecting the brightness and the power on/off, though I wish they were a little easier to tell apart. Well worth the price, very durable and the included belt holder is very helpful.

Comments about Fenix LD41 Flashlight:
I must say that this is a very good product. The LD41 offers 4 brightness levels, an SOS mode and a blinding strobe mode that could disable an attacker. The Turbo mode has 520 lumens that has the output equivalent to a car headlight. This flashlight digitally regulates the output to maintain constant brightness, instead of the light beam gradually dimming as the batteries weaken. The shape of the LD41 fits perfectly in my hand and it won't roll if sitting on an uneven surface.I'm thrilled that it uses standard AA batteries which are always readily available.
My only minor complaint is that the flashlight doesn't stand up on its end. The power switch is located on the end of the handle and it sticks out too far causing the flashlight to be unstable if you try to stand it up. Regardless, I highly recommend this flashlight.

Comments about Fenix LD41 Flashlight:
Hello,
First let me say this isn't my first high end flashlight, but it is my first Fenix. I have several streamlight, jetbeam, and surefire lights.
I'm very impressed with what Fenix provides at such a competitive price point. The temperature of the beam is on the bluer side of white, but I can't complain about it, just not quite the warmer temperature I've come to expect from my surefire lights.. The beam is also quite diffused, though the sheer power of the light still lets it reach out a fair distance. As an all purpose, utilitarian type light I like the smooth diffusion it has from center to the edge of the beam. The fact that it uses AAs is a huge plus and the primary reason I went with this light over others (Jetbeam makes a similar light, uses 4 AAs and just a little less lumens). The button interface is simple and intuitive and allows quick cycling between low and high. The strobe is very disorienting and I think it could be used in self defense for both human and animal aggressors.
Don't really have a negative. I might ask for slightly more throw and a standard strobe mode rather than the SOS mode. Either way, It fulfills the needs of the segment it was built for and I'm very happy with it.

Comments about Fenix LD41 Flashlight:
I'll start out by saying that I normally don't give 5 star reviews on the majority of products, but the LD41 deserves it, despite a few flaws.
I use this flashlight on the job, which includes everything from dark buildings to large fields. Needless to say, for the most part, no matter what environment I'm in, the LD41 does the trick.
The housing of the flashlight (Aluminum) is very durable. Combined with the O-Ring feature, the housing forms a nice waterproof casing for the batteries. If you want a BRIGHT flashlight, this is the one for you (At least for under 1,000 lumens)! Up close and personal, turbo mode almost always ends up blinding me, and that's from a ditance toward my target. Medium and High will suffice, for most anything you'll need this light for. That being said, turbo is rated at 200 meters, which I think is a little stretched. Don't get me wrong, though, as the LD41 will light up distances at it's rating decently.
The light output is a little diffused, but powerful enough for you not to care. This creates a beam and spread combination that just seems to work, no matter the situation. The beam is nice and crisp, especially at ranges of 300 feet, or less and doesn't seem to have any impurities in it.
The only gripe I can muster with this light is the weight. It's "best use" on the page states camping, but I might disagree with that. It's a little on the heavier side, so unless you're car camping, this might not be the best flashlight for the job. If you don't mind a little extra weight in your pack, or belt, then you shouldn't really notice it too much.
The switches are really simple to use and the best part about the tail-cap is that it can tail-stand and be used as a candle (A REALLY BRIGHT candle, if you have it on turbo). The holster sits a little high on the belt, once attached, but that can be easily over-looked once you have it on there.
Overall, if you want a really bright flashlight, give the LD41 a shot. I doubt you'll regret it! :)
