Comments about Marin Rift Zone 29er XC6 Bike - 2013:
I bought this bike after reading the article that named it as the best bang for the buck for under $2k. This is my first "real" mountain bike and since I haven't bought a new bike in over 12 years, I wanted to get something that would last a while. The ability to lock out the front and rear suspension definitely helps on the uphills and flats and there's enough travel so that I can absolutely bomb the down hills without bottoming out. The 29" wheels lets me roll over just about anything. It was a little awkward at first and took some getting used to as I've never ridden a 29er, though now I throw it around like it's the only thing I've ever ridden. 30 speeds gives me all the gearing I could ask for. One of the best things I've ever bought as I really look forward to the weekends so that I can go ride!
Was this a gift?:
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
