Comments about Vasque Breeze 2.0 Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:

I have used these boots three times now and I have been very happy with them. The first time, though, I wore some new hiking socks with them and I developed a sore spot on the outside of my right little toe. The next two times I have worn a band aid and have not had this recur. Next time I go without the band aid again and hope that there are no issues. I love the feeling of stability that these higher boots give.

Wanted a new pair of lighter boots for National Jamboree this summer. REI sales clerk very helpful. Shaved off a pound from my other boots. Have only worn a few times thus far, but comfortable from the start. Large toe box. Breathable. Limited waterproof testing-dry feet.

Comments about Vasque Breeze 2.0 Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:

These shoes are amazing! I usually wear a size 6.5 womens tennis shoe when hiking but decided that I needed something more substantial for pack weight and because of my weak ankles. These are an amazing steal for what you get. I rolled my ankle on several hikes so far but the high ankle support allowed me to stop short of a sprain and continue hiking without a problem. I bought the 7.5 wide since you shouldn't buy a hiking shoe based on size. Instead, you should go in-store and make sure that you have a size that will allow you to jam you way downhill without jamming your toes into the front of the toe box. This was the size that did it for me. I wear them with a nice thick merino wool sock and I love them both. On my last backpacking trip, quite a few people got some blisters and hotspots, and I got off without a single scratch! Also, they have astounding ventilation. The shoelaces do tend to come undone but that is quickly remedied by a double knot on the bow. ;)

This is my 4th or 5th pair of this same boot. I hike a very rocky trail daily so go through a pair a year. I like the fact that they added more rubber to the toe and made them a little more durable all around! I have never had to "break" these boots in! I just love them! I do buy them a size larger as I was advised to do that when I bought my first pair. I put a pair of SuperFeet inside and off I go.

Comments about Vasque Breeze 2.0 Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:

I had fractured my ankle during outdoor bouldering in October, 2012, and setting out on my first hiking trip, I knew I needed something that would prevent my ankle from possibly rolling again. The high support in these boots really helped me get that comfort, stability, and assurance that I would later need on rock scrambles and muddy trails. The shoes are VERY light, and don't weigh down your feet at all, which surprised me greatly. My first serious 30 mile hike in these shoes was through muddy trails, water pools, rock surfaces, and with highest elevation for the trip being 2,000 ft. Yes, I did get some heat blisters, and for this being my second time wearing them, I did get sore spots on my pinky-toes, but overall, I couldn't ask for a better shoe. They didn't hurt, just after 30 miles in fairly new shoes, it's bound to happen. I'm confident that as they continue to mold to my feet and break in, any minor discomfort will disappear.

They stood up to the water and mud great, even with all the sloshing around. Have plenty of grip on rock; I never had a feeling of slipping or losing my footing. The ankles are supportive enough without wearing/rubbing on your skin. Also, I can't attest to this myself, as I don't see it, but everyone says they're super reflective and are very easy to see in the dark with any amount of light.

The only thing I don't like about them is that the shoelaces keep coming undone. Again. And again. And again. And yes, I double-tie them, and pull them tight, but still, they manage to come loose. Maybe this is because they're still new, but my new running shoes don't seem to have this problem. Would be nice if they were a different structure to prevent them from coming undone.

Overall, it's a 4.75, but I can't give it a full 5 because of the shoe laces. Everyone hates having to stop and ruin your pace because of your shoe laces getting untied. But everything else is spectacular! Highly recommended for anyone with foot injuries or just starting to hike.

I bought these shoes to hike the local mountains and specifically for an upcoming Grand Canyon hike. They were comfortable shoes, not too heavy or hot, but rubbed my inner ankle bone on long hikes. I ended up returning them. I would recommend trying out any hiking shoes on a long hike to be sure of the fit for you.

Comments about Vasque Breeze 2.0 Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:

The best thing about these boots is that they really are waterproof. I've crossed a lot of streams in them and stayed dry. Plus, they have good traction. They are attractive. After I bought mine, my 24 year daughter bought the same pair because she liked how they looked- and I told her that they were good boots. They keep my feet warm when it's cold and wet outside. Sometimes they kept my feet too warm, but I fixed that by changing to lighter weight socks. The only con is that I feel I have a little too much wiggle room in the toe area. The boots are a bit heavy, but very sturdy.

I didn't have a single complaint until I looked at the list of complaints and I suppose I could say that the shoe laces are annoying because they constantly come untied. But honestly, I broke these shoes in on a "short" hike that turned into a 6 hour deal. I had some soreness at first but ended the hike blister free, without any real soreness after the first hour. They gave me good traction after a few hours. I wouldn't break them in on a wet surface like I did. They were too new and slippery.
So far I am a satisfied customer :)

Comments about Vasque Breeze 2.0 Mid GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:

Everything is fine except the shoe laces have tendency to become loose. Sometimes they don't stay tied during the hike. The laces on the last boots I had were not like this. I needed to tie them only once at the starting point.
The other thing is not so important, but I wish the color would be darker. There were no choice but this color in this model. Personally I was looking for the moss green.
