With a maximum light output of 70 lumens, the Black Diamond Cosmo headlamp delivers a high-quality beam that is well-suited for night hikes, route finding and use around the campsite.
- 1 central DoublePower LED throws a 70 lumen beam a maximum distance of 40m; 2 proximity LEDs throw a 16 lumen beam up to 25m or down to 6m for activities around camp
- Set the brightness of the light to meet your needs with the dimming switch—simply hold down the on/off button to activate dimmer
- High-quality lens tunes the light output and shape of the beam to make the Cosmo ideal for general outdoor use
- Use the on/off button to navigate from the bright DoublePower LED, to the 2 proximity LEDs and then to the strobe function
- Switch to the single red LED to look at maps or read a guidebook without ruining your night vision
- Streamline design sets the beam at an efficient illumination angle; ratcheting swivel head aims light where you need it
- Compact design fits securely around the head with an adjustable elastic band that won't pull hair
- 3 AAA batteries (included) provide up to 250 hrs. of use on low and 43 hrs. on high; battery compartment is just behind LEDs for a compact design

We use this light when we take the dog out at night. We gave these to Grandmoms so they could see when the electric goes out during a storm. My daughter has one for camping. I love the red light feature, it allows you to see without blinding your companion if you look at them.

Nice specs for the price. However, I have cheaper headlamps that have some type slim rubber or foam pad behind the lamp. This one feels like it is going to be uncomfortable to wear. I will be cutting and gluing a piece of heel inserts or chamois to the back of this lamp before my forehead gets rubbed off!

This headlamp is 100% a must have for every trip whether it is hiking, day trip, camping, or backpacking. It is always in my backpack right next to the first aid kit. So far it has come in useful for building a fire, setting up tent, and making dinner after sunset. I have used it to search for lost sunglasses between boulders in the middle of the day. The dimming feature is great when using it as an overhead light in the tent, just dim it down and throw it in the gear canopy for a nice soft lighting. Red light is great to not wake up my boyfriend when I am still awake after he heads to bed. The only part I haven't figured out is the strobe light... I just use it as a threat when my hiking buddy gets irritating (because it is obscenely bright)... That brings me to another plus, the light has a tilting function which makes for more easily reading and talking to someone with it on without blinding the other person. Ok I'm done. Bottom line this is great.

I use this light when I go camping. As I'm walking around while wearing it, the light sometimes just randomly shuts itself off. It seems as if moving around too much causes the mechanism to malfunction. It has a very touchy button and sometimes I have to push the button several times to get the beam/light option I want. Its kind of annoying
