Comments about Flow The Five-SE Snowboard Bindings - 2012/2013:
Great binding. I had never used a rear entry before. In a way, these are the best of both worlds. You can unbuckle them like normal straps if you really want too, but it's unnessiary.
I found that once you get the bindings adusted where you wanted, you rarely need to touch the straps.
This is the first Flow with a toe strap, which was the main reason I bought it. I wanted to try a binding with a toe strap, coupled with the easy entry.
The bindings are fairly comfortable. They provide adequate support, but have some flex, which seems to be intended to prevent fatigue, and sore spots.
These are ideal for beginner to intermediate riders. I'll never go back to a standard binding. So easy to use.

Comments about Flow The Five-SE Snowboard Bindings - 2012/2013:
I was on an older set of Burton bindings and I didn't realize how much work I was having to do to initiate turns until I put these Flow bindings on my board. It seriously felt like a completely new ride. The rocker shaped foot pads make turn initiation super fast and responsive. I am also impressed with the sturdy construction of these bindings as compared to the Gnu Weird bindings. The aluminum heel cup and more durable feeling plastic components make the binding seem rock solid.

Comments about Flow The Five-SE Snowboard Bindings - 2012/2013:
I haven't used the product on the mountain yet so I only gave it a middle rating for now.
I'm mostly just commenting on the sizing of the product. Flow suggests and XL for sizes 11.5 and up. I have size 12 DC Judge Boas and they fit comfortably in the LARGE Five SE bindings. In store we tried to dry fit a similar DC boot in the large binding and toe strap barely fit (was on the last tooth on both sides), but was totally swimming in the XL (huge gaps on both sides of the boot). When I got home I tried my boot, with bindings on the board, and had a couple more clicks on the toe strap. When I actually put my boot on and strapped in, there was more than ample adjustability on the toe strap.
I also have older (very early Flight 1) flow bindings, also a large and my 11.5 Burton boots fit fine in those. I tried my roommate's 11.5 Solomon's and they fit fine two. I think any size 12s will easily fit in the large. My roommate also has Flow bindings (NXT). His are XL and seem equally large as the Five SE's in store.
The Five SE's have an extendable base plate. When I fully extend it the binding reaches the end of the board, but does not go beyond it. My board is not a "wide" board.
The ratchets and quick release mechanisms work great, very smooth. I'm excited about that. And I'm really keen on the toe straps. The boot feels very secure in the binding without having to tighten down the top too much.
