Comments about Powder Room Bistro Insulated Jacket - Women's:
I was going snow tubing on Christmas and I was NOT going to be cold again. I wanted an insluated parka this year b/c none of my shells comfortably fit over my midweight layers. I'm a size 12/14 and the XL fit great. Lots of ease of moevement without making me look (or feel) super bulky. The length hit just past my hips and was pretty comfortable all zipped up; I didn't need to unzip from the bottom any time I wanted to sit down.
It was 22F and snowing hard today; lots of standing a little walking and I was comfortable in this coat w/a hat and a base and fleece sweater. not too hot; not too cold. If I were skiing or boarding, I might skip the fleece sweater or open up the pit zips. (or maybe not. I spend a lot of my time sliding down hills on my back when skiing and that just invites snow down my back.)
I have long arms and the sleeves are just right and have a velcro adjustable cuff. Additionally, and I LOVE this feature, there are thumb cuffs that extend from the sleeve to prevent that annoying gap between your glove and the sleeve. No more cold wrists!!
The collar has soft lining right where it hits your face which dries quickly when it got a little damp from snow or condensation. The snow skirt tucks neatly under a flap when you don't need it.
the downside is the front pocket placement. I prefer a chest high pocket. They're warmer. The pockets could also stand to have a little more room so that I can reach in without it feeling as though my hands are being scraped by the zipper. This is the only thing I'm not crazy about with this coat.
I'm looking forward to more playing in the snow and it looks like I'm going to be a lot more comfortable at the soccer games.
Service and delivery comments:
I went to the Seattle store on the Saturday night before Christmas. Store was well staffed and everyone was helpful. I didn't catch the guy's name working the ski/boarding coats but he helped me find this jacket and answered all my quetsions as well and skillfully juggled other customers. Blonde guy with longish hair, maybe a beard. Department was in good order.
