When I bought this jacket I was not convinced it would keep me warm. It is extremely light weight. It feels like a wind breaker. I gave it a shot knowing REI has a pretty solid return policy. I would never return this jacket. I am comfortable and WARM when using this. I have noticed if you are just standing around it doesn't work as well because it relies on your body heat to keep you warm. If your body isn't moving, no heat. If you are looking for a jacket to go hiking/skiing in it works great. I have been using it daily for walking the dog but next winter I hope to bring it on more exciting trips. I honestly do not work for or am affiliated with Columbia I just enjoy this jacket. If you can find one get it.
