Comments about The North Face Kira Triclimate 3-in-1 Insulated Jacket - Women's:
I FINALLY got around to buying a proper winter coat - after 29 years of Idaho winters. I love it! The weather got down into the single digits this winter with a lot of windy days to boot. I was toasty warm all winter.
I'm 5'4" with somewhat broad shoulders for a female, so I usually have to get mediums in most jackets, but the size small fits perfectly. Wide enough across the shoulders that I don't feel constricted, but not baggy around my waist. The coat doesn't sacrifice any warmth in the name of reducing bulk, which is great.
I love the pit vents for temperature regulation and the sleeve pocket with the lens cleaning cloth - very handy. The only thing I wish was different is the chest pocket. It's a great size, I just wish it had a vertical zipper instead of a horizontal zipper. I find the vertical zippers make chest pockets much more accessible.

Comments about The North Face Kira Triclimate 3-in-1 Insulated Jacket - Women's:
I have been in need of updating my ten year old Columbia Titanium tri-climate coat for awhile now and after checking out a lot of other coats I kept coming back to this one. My nine year old son has been wearing a very similar North Face tri climate coat with a fleece liner for about three years now so I know that it is very durable. My biggest concern with winter coats is the bulkiness that restricts my movement and when they are too heavy and weigh me down. After trying on a lot of other coats I found this one to be the least bulky and most lightweight even with the liner on. My other concern is when it is warm enough outside and I don't want to have it zipped up to the top, I don't want the collar flapping me in the face or chin all day long as other poorly designed coats/jackets have done in the past. I am pleased to say that I do not have that issue with ths coat!
I wore it up skiing once already and it kept me plenty warm! I purchased the turquoise blue with the white liner and received lots of compliments on it! There were plenty of pockets to store my ski lift pass and anything else I needed for the day. The goggles cloth was handy and easy to access, a nice feature that I didn't think I would use much but found it helpful. Reviewers on The North Face website complained about the size of the hood and there is a lot of fabric there when not wearing a helmet but when cinched up it stayed on great. I don't normally wear a hood in addition to my knit hat but when the wind kicked up and my trusty old knit hat sarted to let the cold in, I put the hood on and was able to stay warm.
I've been wearing just the liner around town while we've been experiencing temperatures in the twenties and it has kept me plenty warm! The only thing I haven't had a chance to test out yet is the waterproofing of the shell but my son's always seemed to keep him dry in our rainy climate.
My final thoughts are that this is a very well designed coat and The North Face seems to have thought of everything when it came to this coat.

Comments about The North Face Kira Triclimate 3-in-1 Insulated Jacket - Women's:
Bought this when my old Columbia ski jacket wore out its usefulness (13 years after buying it). The fit is very good, just about perfect for me.
I plan to use this skiing (haven't been out yet this season, but will soon), but I took this out on a short snow shoeing hike. The high for the day was 3 degrees, a light breeze. I stayed toasty warm with only a very light layer on underneath. Almost too warm, but opening the vents on this helped.
This coat is light, doesn't restrict movement, and definitely keeps you warm. I love the fact the hood is designed to go over a ski helmet and the goggle cloth located in the left sleeve. The liner got a little dirty, so I washed it after using some Tide to Go and it came out great, no problems.
Would definitely recommend this jacket for winter sports or any other cold weather activities.
