Comments about The North Face Montana Gloves - Men's:
I took these gloves on and off as the weather changed - frequently - during 11 days' trek to Everest Base Camp. They went on and off my hands and my carabiners during short breaks for water and photography. I used also a lighter pair of liners solo or in combination. They gripped the poles, enduring mud (it snowed, rained, and sleeted on us) and stone, and kept my hands warm and functional.

Comments about The North Face Montana Gloves - Men's:
I've read some bad reviews. I purchased these, and just lost them, so I'm considering repurchasing them.
The bad reviews have some merit, but I have not had any of those experiences. My hands were cold once, but they have been kept warm in all other uses--skiing and attendance at outdoor sporting events. The gloves have remained dry for me, though I can see how they could get wet inside and remain wet. Hard to imagine how they'd get wet inside because the glove is long, and with the cinch straps tightened and parka sleeves over them it seems very difficult for snow or water to get inside. They are a bit pricy but a good glove is important. I'd recommend them, and will probably repurchase them if I don't find something better.

Comments about The North Face Montana Gloves - Men's:
I would stay away from these gloves. They left my hands cold from the start. Put cold hands in and they never warm up.
They get wet and soaked quickly and easily which makes it a very poor design for snow sports. Not sure why I even still have these...

Comments about The North Face Montana Gloves - Men's:
Went hiking up on Mount Mitchell in Asheville, NC. Towards the top was snow and winds more than 40mph. They held up. I rated a 4, because if your hands are like mine... and sweat... it will not whisk away the sweat from your hands, so the inside of your gloves will stay wet and will not dry (takes up to two days). Also a little pricey. Another great feature is it does keep your hands warm before the sweat rolls in followed with they are waterproof and I love the strap so it keeps nice and tight around your wrist.
