- Highly breathable, lightweight air-mesh nylon uppers feature welded thermoplastic urethane (TPU) reinforcements for structure and pronation stability

Like others, I had issues with the heel of this shoe. A bubble formed in the sole very quickly and pushed out beneath the tread. Not what I'm looking for after only about 10 miles on the trail. Returned these due to the defective quality.

Since I have major problems with pronation, these shoes turned out great. It is getting hard to find shoes that don't have eva heals without stabilization. I was glad to find these. Now I need to find something similar in a waterproof low hiker.

Good shoe but it is very very squeaky, fine for solo trail runs but I'm unable to use the shoe for anything else and now has become my lawn work shoes.

Unless you get an amazing deal, don't buy these shoes. When I got them I loved them, wearing them as a casual shoe and as a light hiker. However, there were several flaws:
(1) The squeeked when I walked. i was able to mitigate this to some extent by cutting out part of the liner, but I couldn't make it stop completely.
(2) Both soles got air inside of them making a small bubble that extended below. I punctured them and put in super glue, which more-or-less worked. My friend had the exact same thing happen to his - same exact model.
If I had worn these shoes for years I wouldn't bat an eye at these issues, but these shoes are relegated to lawn mowing despite still looking good. I'll never buy a Vasque shoe again.

These are my favorite all-around shoes. If I'm going on a trip and am short of room, these would be the one pair to take. I've used them walking around Paris or New York all day long, as well as on fairly strenuous backcountry hikes. I bought them about a year ago as a closeout at a local outfitter and was happy to see them being offered here at REI, so I just ordered a second pair to use when the first one goes. Sorry to see that they are discontinued.
