Comments about Thule Crossover Backpack:
Bought this backpack and tried it out with my gear for one day. Holds a laptop and all office-type gear very efficiently. However, the water bottle pockets are way too shallow to hold even a standard disposable water bottle. The mesh just does not secure the bottle high enough. This was a deal-killer for me, especially for when I travel. Returned it the next day, and the search continues...

Comments about Thule Crossover Backpack:
The zippers on my little Jansport finally died on an Arizona day trip. Found myself looking for a somewhat larger day pack, which could also Cary my iPad daily, and a laptop and daily items for flying. This one fits the bill. This bag has three main pockets. The protective iPad sleeve is large enough to hold the apple product in a case, with room to spare. The laptop also fits well. The computers have their own dedicated pocket. Very nice. The front pocket is large, with many small pockets, sleeves to hold daily items, pagers, phones, keys, wallet, flashlight, hat, etc. The middle pocket collapses easily. But it is very large for holding lunch, a change of clothes, junk from the store, and so forth. Fully loaded, the bag barely fits in a locker, but I would not say the bag is too large. The crush proof zone for glasses is oversized. Really nice, but I use that pocket a lot and wish it had an alternate method of closure, maybe the existing zipper, but also a snap or something. And the glasses pocket is almost too large. It would fit even a large pair if safety glasses, possibly even goggles. Some cons are listed, but they are minor. There are no small pockets in the computer compartment. It would be nice to store earbuds, wipes, and a microfiber cloth in that area. The rear pocket has a nice blue zipper pull. The other two main pockets share the color black. Sometimes, I open the wrong pocket. Also, my other bag had a nice little outer pocket which I usually left unzipped for collecting change, a pen, parking slip, passport, trash, little rocks, candy, etc. this one is lacking a similar pocket. If you've read the review this far, you realize my primary use is for commuting, not hiking. I live out of this bag. I considered a messenger bag, but they seemed too purse-like. But, essentially, that is what I'm using the bag for. There was a similar bag from a company which works towards a smaller carbon footprint. Although I found that bag unsightly, I strongly considered it, but this product had more of the features I needed, including the crush-proof eyeglasses pocket.

Great choice for a stylish & athletic, yet understated way to carry your laptop and plenty of other gear (work related or not...) Love the protective sunglass/phone compartment.
