The light CamelBak Octane 18X hydration pack is ideal for 3+ hours on the trail. It weighs only 1 lb. yet boasts 21 liters of capacity—enough for all your day-hiking essentials.
- 100 fl. oz. Antidote™ reservoir features a welded center baffle and low-profile shape for stability
- Quick Link™ system lets you effortlessly add accessories such as a Fresh™ filter, insulated tube, tube director, flow meter or hanger (accessories sold separately)
- Hydration compartment loads easily, holding the reservoir flat against your back to leave more room for layers and gear
- Wide-mouth port cuts weight and makes it easy to fill and clean the reservoir; quick-snap cap tightens in just a quarter turn
- Folding arms lock into position to hold the reservoir open when drying; arms tuck out of the way around the port when not in use
- Reservoir is taste free, easy to clean and easy to fill via the large opening
- Big Bite™ valve is ergonomically positioned for easy drinking
- Main compartment holds lunch or gear with a center zip expansion for additional cargo

I bought the pack for hiking in Yosemite and it was ideal for that purpose. The pack is both lightweight and comfortable based on it's thoughtful design. It has adequate space to carry snacks, water, first aid, spare clothing, camera. The expandable design creates a variable carrying capacity. Many thoughtful features!

I specifically bought this bag to use for adventure racing. It has turned out to be great. I also use it for daily hikes, and mountain biking. If I were to change one thing about this bag, I would put more pockets in it. There are a few, but the bulk of the bag is a large capacity. That particular feature is great for larger things, but not small things like cell phones, tools, etc... over all it is an awesome bag and I would suggest it to anyone looking for the extra capacity and large fluid capacity.

Great day pack for one or two people. Very comfortable as long as it is not overloaded. Large water reservoir is especially nice as it is all you need for a day out. Really like the simplicity of the design. Mesh pockets on the sides of the waist strap are good for holding a snack or camera. The zipper along the front shrinks it down so everything inside remains stable when not fully loaded.
The only downside was one of the points for tightening the draw cord pulled out. I put it back together but continues to do this. However, I never use this particular feature so sort of irrelevant to me. This is the only reason I would not give it 5 stars.
A very nice minimalist pack for running, or day hiking. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a simple light weight pack.
