Comments about Blizzard Survival Sleeping Bag:

My group and I were hiking the superior hiking trail this last week and for some of us it was our first extended trip. I have had experience with backpacking so I felt the most prepaired in the group. I packed minimally and had some of the best lightweight equipment out of the group. The two nights we spent on the trail were flirting with freezing tempuratures. We didn't have thermometers, but later we learned the temps were mid 30's. I brought with a military intermediate sleeping bag, rated from 30-50 degrees. I'll tell you right now thats a joke, it only kept me warm for the first 5 minutes of the night. I wore both my sweater and gore-tex jacket and was freezing. Luckly I brought with the Blizzard Sleeping bag and it made my nights a lot more comfortable. I made the mistake however of curling up in it and covering my face with the bag thus causing condensation to build up. My normal sleeping bag was soaked by the morning but I was toasty warm!! Unfortunatly it packs down the size of about 3 nalgenes so it took up alot of space on the way out.... I think I can get it smaller, but on the trail I wasn't able to. Overall, great product for emergencies if one ever arises.
