Comments about JanSport Scout External Frame Pack - Youth:

I originally bought the JanSport Scout for my 11 year-old son for Boy Scouting trips based on the adjustablility of the pack, great construction, and easy accessability to large storage spaces. All his gear, including sleeping bag, stove, and tent, fit easily in the pack and was well balanced on his frame. There are also plenty of places to attach accessories to the outside of the pack. The belt was easily adjusted to further balance the weight. My son was able to easily handle the pack for all 24 miles and seemed to be better off than many of the scouts with interior frame packs. After a few more backpacking trips I replaced my old pack with this one as well. I am 5'9 and the pack adjusts to a perfect fit and could not be more comfortable. If you look at the specifications between the JanSport Scout and other "Adult" packs you will see that the JanSport Scout is as large of a capacity, adusts to a larger size, and still weighs less than the other packs. If you are looking for a great external pack, which I prefer to interal packs, then don't overlook this one!
