by KMDoubleufromGreat sandalI've had Chacos before and never cared for the pebbled footbed that always bothered my feet when walking for a long time. They would tend to leave the inside of my arch toward the heel calloused. They also have a tendency to make your feet sweat and that coming from someone whos feet do not typically sweat. This particular sandal is a great improvement to the Chaco line as the footbed is smooth and breathable. I've returned every pair of Chaco's I've bought with the exception of these. I love the way they look too. It did take a few days to wear the stiffness of the strapping down... they were abrasive to the top of my foot the first few days. They should consider narrowing the width of the strap itself which would probably help They are amazingly comfortable and I put hours on end of walking for 8 days straight all over maui, Oahu and the big Island. At first look, I wasn't sure how well they would stay on my feet for aggressive walking because of the configuration but I like the way they look so much I decided to go for it and buy them. I think it's also important to note that the soles have a good non slip sole. Most products today don't have that added benefit but the rubber composition of the sole is better than most for wet surfaces or sandy sidewalks. They aren't totally slip proof or super grippy but they are more than adequate if that is a concern. Love these sandals! Am ordering another pair because I hate it when I find a great sandal and the next thing I know, they are discontinued or some other reason and I didn't have the foresight to order more in the first place. They are pricey but I think they will hold up for years to come, they seem to be well made; time will tell and you can just throw them in the washer.
